We Never did what we were told
We only bought what the government sold
Sold us a nightmare covered in gold
Money, power, respect shit never got old
We watched our mothers/ slowly corrode
Dying from what was... cooked/ on that stove (2x)

And Then that one fatal night/ I saw my mothers life
Deteriorating from the work that I supplied
She tried escaping her reality/ but there was no where to hide
And I could never escape that I’m the reason she could fucking die

I was in the wrong but i kept on denying
I was killing my mother just to keep on surviving
That’s when I heard them sirens
And I knew that she was slowly expiring
Tried keeping hope alive
But deep in my soul I felt the reaper arriving
As I held her hand I felt her life slip away

Yet through all the chaos
There was still a glimmer of hope
Speeding through an abundance of raindrops
It still wasn’t murder I wrote
What if they could still save her?
Fuck I felt agonized
I killed her for that paper
Just never satisfied
Looked up and realized
That she had flatlined
This was a matricide

How can I live with myself
Knowing damn well
I was the one that
sent her straight to hell
